The Women's Missionary Union (WMU) serves as the Women's Ministry at Baptist Chapel. The WMU is a missions group that works inside the church, community, and local schools to meet needs and serve people. The WMU normally meets on the first Sunday of the month at 9am with a light breakfast, devotion, prayer, and orther related bussiness discussions.

WMU Activities at a Glance

  • Women's Sunday - the ladies at Baptist Chapel lead in Sunday School and congergational singing
  • Pancake Breakfast - a community-wide fundraiser (usually in March) which raises funds for a local missions cause.
  • Easter Missions - Leading up to easter we fill and collect Easter Baskets which are distributed to children in need. We also take up the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering which supports chuch planters in the North American Mission Board.
  • Backpack Buddies - supplying food to our local elementary school for children that might not have enough food for the weekend. We also communicate with guidance counselors from locla schools to identify additonal needs our WMU can meet.
  • Senior Banquet - a dinner to honor the senior adults in our church (usually in the Fall)
  • Christmas Missions - We deliever Christmas Cards and place luminaries in honor or memory of loved ones. We also participate in Operation Christmas Child where shoeboxes are packed with gifts and are shipped to children internationally. The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering helps supports church planters in the International Mission Board - this is taken up leading up to and after Christmas.
